Annual winter event: Native American Weekend at LC State Park

A good reason to visit the lake comes up Fri-Sat Jan 30-31 at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park... The annual Native American Weekend features a host of interesting events and exhibits. Following is the schedule (all times CENTRAL): FRI JAN 30 7:30 pm - Danny Bigay & Emerson Begay: Flutist & Guitar SAT JAN 31 9:00 am - Driver Pheasant: Cherokee Medicine 10:15 am - Craft for Youth: Arrowhead Necklace 10:15 am - Sherry Oswalt: Cherokee Language 1:00 pm - Sherry Oswalt: Cherokee Pottery & Baskets 2:15 pm - Dr. Michael Logan: Nineteenth Century Plains Indian Art 2:15 pm - Sherry Finchum: Genealogy (2 part session) 5:00 pm - Buffalo Dinner using buffalo meat in several ways (along with other entrees) 8:00 pm - Will Laney & Cherokee Dancers: Native American Dance with Drum All sessions will be held in the Activities Center at the park. Tickets for day-guest only are available at the door at $1.00 per person, per session.
