Picnicking

There is currently a firewood quarantine. To protect our forest NO FIREWOOD transported from out of state is allowed. This is to stop the transportation of the Asian longhorn beetle and the Sirex woodwasp. Once transported, both insects can kill local trees.

There are several developed picnic areas to choose from at Lake Cumberland.  Picnic tables, grills, bathrooms, playgrounds, and other amenities are available, and in most cases, a great view of lake.  Individual picnic sites are available on a first come, first served basis at Kendall, Waitsboro, Cumberland Point, Fall Creek, Fishing Creek, Halcomb’s Landing,  Seventy-Six Falls, and Mill Springs Mill Recreation Areas.  Click here to check opening and closing dates for the 2011 recreation season.
