They have been cranking the winches this week, the lake is dropping
They have tightened the winches three times already today. The lake must be dropping rather steadily.

Well let's hope they don't have to start taking it the other way this weekend.

Looking at that title I was afraid I was going to have to edit this post.
Crankin the wenches...is that Pirate talk for something.

The level had droped significantly. They were out last night cleaning a good 40 ft. of mud off the ramp access at SD with hoses.

It was going down over the weekend also. I had the Hboat beached and had to back off shore a couple times to keep from getting stuck... I would hate
to start a beached houseboat thread all over.....

That is the scariest thing about beaching. Especially in a houseboat with a 90 hp outboard.

Quickiemonster, I was with Ahab, and I can assure you that a single 90 wouldn't have gotten my boat off the bank.
I didn't backup as he did during the course of the weekend, assuming my Big Blue 454's wouldn't have a problem sliding me backwards.
I was wrong. We seny everyone to the back of the boat, and I had both the engines roaring. For a moment I didn't think it was going to make it
without help.
