Some of you may already have seen this
Can you imagine coming home from work to find this tiny creature napping on your couch with your dog?
Guess who came home for dinner?
It followed this beagle home, right through the doggy door.
This happened in Maryland recently. The owner came home to find the visitor had made himself right at home.

Well hi fryman.
We were down south a few weeks ago just lookin around. (not really scouting) Looked pretty good though. Got up a few deer in our hunting areas. Now
that's a 'good' sign'.
Going down to our camp this weekend to cut up a few trees for fire wood. They are threatning to fall on the trailer. Will be a good time. When the
work is done, will sit around a camp fire and drink a few cold ones!

If I had a place to scout Little too early for me anyways....dread the
ticks and chiggars. I've always been limited to public areas and usually any deer on those have already been spotted, scouted, tied up and waiting
opening morning!
Anyone have an old fence corner, lonely tree in middle of 1000 acre hayfield or briar patch that needs covered...I'm your guy!

You are correct Nervous_Wreck, near Burnside area. South actually....in the headwaters area of Lake Cumberland. I've seen some nice deer from
Ohio. Local taxidermist gets a few every year.

There are some really nice deer in Southern Ohio for sure. The problem is since the Omish buck and the Beautty buck it has become increasing
difficult to find a place to hunt b/c of people wanting to lease the land and kick us off. I can't blame the farmer b/c he has a hard enough time
but it really hurts when you have groomed an area all your life and then poof it is gone.

Feel your pain ramsey. We have been fortunate to have a friend that owns 11 acres adjacent to Zaleskie State Forest in southern Ohio. It is very hard
to find farmers that will let you hunt. At least where I live anyway.

This county is 87% public land. Pretty much hunt anywhere ya wish. What's happened to me numerous times, until I wisened up...I used to find a good
area to hunt and within the law..."fixed" it up....supplemental plantings, mineral deposits and the like....only to have people come in day before
season opening and literally take my spot. I knew it was a gamble as it is public land, but it just gets aggravating. With the added enhancements,
deer naturally flocked to the area and someone noticed....and boom...I done the work and they reap the harvest. I don't do that anymore. Tired
of raising someone else's trophy. So now I've been forced to spin the wheel of fortune and guess blindly at where to scout and hunt. I don't
mind it soo bad for me....but my son, who is the future of hunting is discouraged and isn't as enthused as he used to be. He keeps asking to find a
place where someone cant push us off...but if you do find a landowner willing, usually too expensive for me. But, that's life. Just gotta roll
with the punches I reckon....LOL b-(

Well, we went down to our hunting camp this past weekend on a 'work detail'. We downed three white oaks (dead) cut, splt, and stacked them.
Constructed our 'NEW' two stall out house! (the old one was 35 years old) The weather was HOT and HUMID!! But it all got done.
A few pics to follow....

I think we have more than enough help hunting these boys. I saw these 4 @ month ago beside the road and knew then they were going to be impressive,
for the area anyway.

Getting Excited!
Thanks for bringing this back up Relax.
Son and I have been out in the woods a few times thus far.
Set one of his stands and put some corn down.
Saw several deer (from the roadways) and got us REAL excited. Season starts in a couple of weeks up here.
Haven't seen any BIG boys yet, but we know they are there!
I hate for summer to pass, but sure look forward to the
deer hunting and getting in the woods. Nothing like it!
Good luck to all you hunters this year. Post the pics!
