Changes At Lake Cumberland State Resort Park

A number of exciting projects are taking place at The Lake Cumberland State Resort Park.

The 63 room Lure Lodge and 13 room Pumpkin Creek Lodge, located inside the park, in Jamestown Ky is currently undergoing some major and costly renovations.  Some of the projects involved in the face lift include replacing concrete I beams and flooring.  Local company Branscum’s Construction has already gotten the construction underway.

Lake Cumberland.com met with State Park Manager Steven Eastham this week and the construction work isn’t the only projects taking place at the Park.

The Lake Cumberland State Resort Park will soon be opening a bar lounge in its upper lobby.  The projected date for opening is around April 1st.    In addition to the bar lounge, there will be another place to dine inside the park.  Lake Cumberland Tiki Bar and restaurant will also be opening around April 1st at The Lake Cumberland State Dock, on State Dock Road.

With The Lake Cumberland State Park being the top revenue producing State Park in Kentucky and with spring and summer approaching, there will be a variety of positions available for employment.   The Lure Lodge restaurant which was recently remodeled and overlooks beautiful Lake Cumberland will be hiring waitress starting at $6.80 plus tips.

The park hosts a variety of events throughout the year, whether it be weddings, birthday pool parties or the infamous themed dinners, there is always something fun happening inside the park.  The indoor pool complex and the parks amenities offer year round fun. No matter where you look and no matter what time of year you’re visiting, the State Park and the beautiful view of the Lake Cumberland never disappoints.

The next dinner that you will want to mark your calendar for will be the Frontier Night Buffet featuring a variety of wild game.  Frontier Night will be April 7th from 5-8 p.m. (cst)
